Sample of the Business Travel Requirements for an Brazil Business Visa for US Citizens

1. Passport

   You must provide your actual signed passport, including one copy of the personal information page of your passport. Your passport must:

   • Be valid for the next six months
   • Have at least one blank visa page (amendments and endorsement pages cannot be used to fulfill this requirement)
   • Not be frayed, torn, separating, or altered in any other way

   If your passport does not meet these requirements, please contact ZVS at for further details.

2. Photographs

   You must provide one color, passport-type photograph. The photograph must:

   • Be printed on photo paper
   • Be two inches by two inches
   • Have a white background
   • Have been taken within the last six months

3. Driver's License

   You must provide a copy of your driver's license: Your copy must display your home address as it appears on your visa application form.

4. Online Brazil Application

   The Consulate of Brazil has instituted a web-based visa application form. The application must be completed online and can be found at https://scedv.serpro.gov.br/.  We cannot process your visa request if you do not complete the application form online.  Your completed application must:

   • Include answers for all fields
   • Include your name as it appears in your passport (leave the middle name field of the application form blank if your middle name is not represented in your passport)
   • Include your designated code number which will be issued at the end of the online application process
   • Include your signature as it appears in your passport
   • Be submitted to the consulate within 30 days of completion
   • Be signed inside the LARGE BOX found directly below the place of birth field
   • Be printed and included in your completed ZVS Application Kit

5. Business Introduction Letter

   A letter of introduction from your US-based company is required. Your completed introduction letter must:

   • Be printed on your company’s official letterhead
   • Display your full name, nationality, and job title
   • Display your company’s US address
   • Specify the exact purpose of your trip
   • Specify the number of entries requested and the length of each stay
   • Include your specific entry and exit dates
   • Include the validity of your requested visa
   • Be signed by your supervisor or your company’s Human Resources department
   • Clearly state that "No technical assistance will be performed while in Brazil"
   Included in this kit is a sample Business Introduction Letter for your reference.  Please use the exact language found in the sample when completing your own business introduction letter and include any special requirements listed above.

6. ZVS Order Form

   You must provide one completed ZVS Order Form. The form must:

   • Include a valid email address and payment information
   • Include your signature in blue or black ink

7. Photocopy of All Application Materials

   You must provide photocopies of all items that you submit to ZVS. Your photocopies must be provided along with the original version of each document. If you prefer that ZVS make photocopies for you, additional fees will be applied to your order. We recommend that you retain a copy of all items that you submit for your own records. Any documents that are specifically addressed to the consulate will not be returned to you.

8. Proof of Travel Arrangements

   You must provide proof of travel arrangements for the duration of your trip.  Details of your intended arrangements must:

   • Include a copy of an itinerary or e-ticket showing entry and exit dates
   • Show the traveler's full name (as printed in his or her passport)

   Minors under the age of 18 must submit the following documents, all of which must be notarized:

   • The attached Minor Authorization form
   • A notarized letter of consent from both parents or legal guardian
   • The child's birth certificate
   • A copy of both parent's photo IDs

   If the child has legal guardians, the guardians must provide a notarized legal proof of guardianship.
